Solid foundations to bring Vietnam into a new era of development and prosperity
The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Party's 14th Congress) is considered a historical event, marking a turning point in the country's development process as well as in the upward trajectory of the renovation process.
Talking to VNA, Cuban battlefield journalist Luis Manuel Arce Isaac said that the theme of the Political Report of the 14th Party Congress has shown the stature of the event, because it is not just a slogan, but also a decision with strong inspiration, recalling the patriotic ideology and goals of President Ho Chi Minh: "Under the glorious flag of the Party, joining hands, unite to successfully implement the country's development goals to 2030; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the era of national rise for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, prosperity, civilization, happiness, steadily advancing towards socialism".
The Cuban journalist said that, above all, the spirit of the Congress reaffirms the determination to continue to comprehensively promote the revolution that was initiated 96 years ago, continuing in the arduous struggle for independence and national reunification and being completed in the next 40 years of renovation.
According to Mr. Luis Manuel Arce Isaac's assessment, the outstanding achievements of the 13th Party Congress term as well as the 40th anniversary of Doi Moi are clear proof of Vietnam's correct development path. Average economic growth in the period 2021-2025 reached 6.3% per year, bringing Vietnam into the group of fast-growing economies in the region and in the world; defense and security were strengthened; foreign relations and international integration reached a new height; Party building and rectification and administrative apparatus reform have made significant progress.
The Cuban journalist expressed his belief that the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress will continue to promote and improve the achieved results, creating a solid foundation to bring Vietnam into a new era of development and prosperity.
Important shift in development thinking, from "innovation" to "breakthrough
Chinese media simultaneously reported that the Communist Party of Vietnam has synchronously integrated the Political Report, Socio-Economic Report and Party building work summary report into a unified draft Political Report. This Political Report was for the first time included in the action platform, clearly defining the specific content, deadlines and responsibilities of each task. The previous draft had been widely consulted by the whole society and received nearly 14 million comments.
Meanwhile, Dr. Seun Sam, a political science researcher at the Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC), said that the draft document submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam shows an important shift in development thinking, from "innovation" to "breakthrough", in order to achieve faster and more sustainable economic growth.
VNA quoted Dr. Seun Sam as saying that, besides personnel work and the election of the 14th Central Executive Committee, the Politburo - agencies that play a decisive role in the domestic and foreign policies, the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will focus on planning the path of developing socialism in the Vietnamese style.
Assessing the economic targets stated in the draft document, Dr. Seun Sam said that Vietnam sets a target of GDP growth of about 10%/year in the period 2026-2031, GDP per capita reaching about 8,500 USD by 2030, while promoting the transition to a knowledge-based economy and science and technology. These targets show a comprehensive development orientation, covering international integration, economic reform, human resource development and environmental protection.
