Low pressure forecast to enter the East Sea right after storm No. 1 Wutip

The new low pressure near the East Sea is forecast to enter the East Sea during the week of June 20-26.

According to the latest typhoon report from Xinhua News Agency on June 13, as Typhoon Wutip approached, southern Chinese provinces activated emergency response measures, evacuated people to safety, canceled flights and prepared rescue teams.

Quang Dong province has raised the emergency response level to level 3 since the morning of June 13 and prepared 10 rescue ships, 5 helicopters and 34 24-hour tractor-trailers in important coastal areas across the province. More than 49,000 fishing vessels have returned to port.

According to the Quang Dong Provincial Meteorological Observatory, it is expected that from June 13 to June 16, the heaviest rainfall since the beginning of this year's flood season will be recorded in Quang Dong. Due to the impact of storm No. 1, there is a risk of tornadoes in some areas of Quang Dong from June 13 to June 15.

Wutip upgraded to a strong tropical storm from 8:00 p.m. on June 12. At 10:00 a.m. on June 13, the storm approached the Le Lac Dong ethnic autonomous district, Hai Nam province with winds of up to 101 km/h and moving north at a speed of 5 to 10 km/h.

The latest storm and low pressure forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on June 13 said that a new low pressure is expected to form right after storm No. 1 in the Wutip East Sea and storm near the Philippines Auring.

The forecast bulletin said that during the week of June 19 to June 19, Typhoon No. 1 Wutip will be outside PAGASA's PMD forecast area but is likely to reappear at the northwest edge of the PMD as the storm moves northeast. It is forecasted that the first storm in the East Sea this year will not directly affect the weather in the Philippines.

Also during the forecast period, the storm near the Philippines was locally named Auring and weakened and is currently moving outside the PMD forecast area.

PAGASA confirmed that Auring had weakened into a low pressure area at 2:00 a.m. on June 13 and had left the Philippine Forecast Area (PAR). The low pressure originated from Typhoon Auring, 580 km north-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, Philippines at 4:00 a.m. on June 13 and is unlikely to strengthen into a tropical storm again in the next 24 hours.

According to Philippine weather forecasters, during the week of June 13 to 19, a low pressure is expected to form east of Luzon and Visayas, Philippines. Models show that this low pressure near the East Sea is unlikely to strengthen into a storm during the forecast period.

However, in the week from June 20 to 26, Philippine forecast models found that the low pressure is likely to move north of Luzon, Philippines and then enter the northern East Sea. Similar to last week, when it enters the East Sea, this low pressure is likely to strengthen into a low storm.
