After sweeping the Philippines with wind gusts of over 230 km/h, storm No. 14 Fung-wong entered the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea early this morning.

With wind gusts of over 230 km/h and a circulation of up to 1,600 km, Typhoon Fung-wong (called Uwan in the Philippines) has killed at least 2 people, forced more than 1 million to evacuate urgently while many areas are isolated by floods and high tides.

Super typhoon Fung-wong made landfall on the east coast of the Philippines on the evening of November 9, bringing showers, strong gusts of wind and high waves along more than 20 coastal provinces, including the capital Manila.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) confirmed that this is the strongest storm in 2025, with winds of 185 km/h and gusts of up to 230 km/h as it sweeps through Luzon Island - the country's most populous island.

In Catanduanes province, the first to experience a "wind blow", heavy rain and waves have submerged many coastal residential areas. One man died in flash floods, while a 64-year-old woman on Samar Island was trapped in a collapsed house.

The accompanying video shows water level rising half of Virac's church and waves overflooding the embankment, causing the ground to shake like an earthquake.

When waves hit the sea retaining wall, the ground seemed to shake. We have never seen such a terrible thing, said Edson Casarino in Virac.

The government said nearly 1.2 million people had been evacuated from dangerous areas.

In Aurora province, where the center of the storm made landfall at 9:10 p.m. on November 9, many houses had their roofs blown off and trees were uprooted. Local people said the scariest thing is that the storm comes at night when you cant see anything sweeping around you.

After passing Luzon in the early morning of November 10, the storm gradually weakened with winds of about 150 km/h.

Typhoon Fung-wong arrived just days after Typhoon No. 13 Kalmaegi claimed 224 lives in the country.

Authorities are concerned that damage will continue to build up as millions of people are still living in the sky and earth, amid the most intense storm season in many years.

According to the latest storm information from the Vietnam National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF), at 4:00 a.m. on November 10, the center of storm No. 14 was at about 17.3 degrees north latitude; 119.3 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea of the northern East Sea. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 13 (134-149 km/h), gusting to level 16. The storm is moving west-northwest at a speed of about 25 km/h.

Due to the influence of the storm, the sea area east of the northern East Sea will have strong winds of level 82; the area near the storm's center will have strong winds of level 11-13, gusts of level 16, waves 5.08,0m high, the area near the storm's center will have 8.0-10.0m. The sea is rough.
