On September 24, a " presidential Honora" was just announced outside the olyums with portraits of gold-plated presidential frames, except for former President Joe Biden.
According to photos posted by the White House on social media, the frame for the 46th US President instead of his portrait shows only the image of an autopen device typing the words Joe Biden.
An unnamed White House official said the idea of replacing Mr. Biden's portrait with an autopen image belonged to President Trump himself.
The Republican president has repeatedly suggested that Mr. Biden use automatic pens to sign official documents during his term.
Mr. Trump often questioned Mr. Biden's ability to be transparent, even implying that it was his assistants, not Mr. Biden, who made important decisions.
Mr. Biden and his former assistants denied the accusation, emphasizing his direct role in running the country. A Biden spokesperson declined to comment on the new portrait.
Autopen is a device that can accurately recreate signatures, often used for large numbers of documents or formal documents. Many US presidents of both parties have used the device to sign letters and decrees.
The official White House account on social network X posted a picture of Mr. Trump looking at the portrait while walking along the corridor outside the Oval Office on September 24.
Notably, since taking office in January 2025, Mr. Trump has changed the appearance of the White House in a more luxurious style, adding many gilded details, removing portraits of former President Barack Trump and Mrs. Hillary Trump from the solemn position, and replacing the Red Garden with a stone yard.
