The British Conservative Party pledges to deepen Vietnam-UK relations

During a meeting with General Secretary To Lam, Chairman of the British Conservative Party Kemi Badenoch pledged to continue promoting the strengthening of relations with Vietnam at the National Assembly.

According to VNA, on October 30, General Secretary To Lam met with Chairman of the British Conservative Party Kemi Badenoch in London, within the framework of an official visit to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

At the meeting, Chairman of the conservative Party Kemi Badenoch welcomed and expressed his honor to meet General Secretary To Lam and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation, congratulating Vietnam on the socio-economic development achievements it has achieved.

Ms. Badenoch welcomed the two countries' adoption of a Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam - UK relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Ms. Kemi Badenoch emphasized that the British Conservative Party attaches importance to and supports promoting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries as well as the relationship between the two peoples; affirmed that the British Conservative Party will continue to promote and strengthen relations with Vietnam in the National Assembly.

On this occasion, Ms. Badenoch sent warm regards to the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam thanked the solidarity and friendship of Conservative Party Chairman Kemi Badenoch and the British Conservative Party leadership; highly appreciated Ms. Kemi Badenoch in her position as Secretary of Commerce and Trade for playing an important role in promoting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always attaches importance to the friendship and cooperation with political parties around the world, including the British Conservative Party, to strengthen cooperation in all fields.

General Secretary To Lam suggested that the Conservative Party continue to support the activities of the UK Parliament and Government to promote and facilitate bilateral cooperation in all fields, supporting the Vietnamese community in the UK and British people in Vietnam to live, study and work in the host country.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam invited Ms. Badenoch and the British Conservative Party delegation to pay an official visit to Vietnam as soon as possible.

Appreciating the important achievements of bilateral relations in recent times, the leaders of the two Parties were pleased to see that Vietnam and the UK have many similarities on international and regional issues that both sides are interested in, regularly closely coordinating and supporting each other at international and regional forums.

The two sides agreed to promote and enhance cooperation between the two Parties through enhancing contact activities and exchanging policy experiences, contributing to the development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the UK.
