The delegation of US lawmakers is visiting Taiwan (China) just 12 days after the visit of Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.

The 5-member delegation led by Democratic Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts is visiting Taiwan.

According to the Washington Post, a TV station in Taiwan has aired a video showing a US government plane landing at around 7pm on August 14 at Tung Son Airport in Taipei.

The US congresswoman delegation will be in Taiwan for two days, August 14 and 15, within the framework of their visit to Asia, AP quoted information from the American Institute in Taiwan.

The US congressional delegation will meet with Taiwanese officials to discuss US-Taiwan relations, regional security, trade, investment and other issues.

Previously, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan on the evening of August 2 and left on the afternoon of August 3. Pelosi's visit to Taipei is the first time a US House of Representatives Speaker has visited Taiwan in 25 years.

The visit to Taiwan was not part of Ms. Pelosi's official schedule as she traveled to Asia, including stops in Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan.

The visit to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has led to a backlash from China.

Immediately after the US House of Representatives' visit to the island, China dispatched missiles, warships and fighter jets to practice in the waters and airspace around Taiwan.
