From around 5:30 p.m. on October 5, fire started to break out from the Gao Pagoda area towards the Tran Hung Dao monument on An Phu mountain.
As soon as the fire was discovered, the People's Committee of Kinh Mon town, Hai Duong province mobilized about 600 people including the following forces: Police, Military Command, Kinh Mon town Forest Ranger Department, militia forces of Hiep Son, Pham Thai, An Phu, Hiep Hoa, Thuong Quan wards... to quickly arrive at the scene, creating runways on both sides to prevent the fire from spreading.
As of 9:30 p.m., the fire brigade was still trying to contain the fire. However, due to the impact of storm No. 3, a large number of fallen trees, and dry weather, the fire spread easily, making it difficult to extinguish.
The cause of the fire and damage are still unknown.
