The latest storm and low pressure information on December 19 from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that there are 2 low pressure areas forecast to form near the Philippines next week.
The first low pressure is forecast to form in eastern Mindanao between now and December 23.
Although the possibility of this low pressure area strengthening into a tropical depression or storm remains low, Philippine weather forecasters note that this weather system will likely remain almost stationary around the eastern areas of Visayas and Mindanao between December 24 and 30.
PAGASA said that another low pressure in the same period, forming near the South Palawan area, is also unlikely to develop into a storm or tropical depression.
PAGASA forecasts that in December, there may be a maximum of 2 storms forming or entering the Philippine forecast area, starting with the 23rd tropical depression of 2025 - Tropical Depression Wilma.
Meanwhile, the tropical convergence zone is forecast to bring cloudy skies, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Caraga and Davao regions of Mindanao, as well as Palawan Province.
