The talks are expected to be attended by Minister Pistorius and a number of representatives of the Ukrainian government.
Speaking before departing for Kiev, Mr. Pistorius said that Germany is doing everything to help Ukraine be able to defend itself and elevate its position at the peace negotiation table with Russia.
Germany is the second largest military supporter to Ukraine, after the US. However, Washington's commitment to Kiev has been questioned, putting pressure on Europe to increase support.
On May 29, member of the Alternative for Germany ( Af Af AfD) Party Committee Markus Fronmaier warned that additional military aid to Ukraine is causing Germany to face risks in terms of national security and safety.

In an article published on the AfD's official website, Fronmaier frankly stated that the continued supply of billions of euros, combined with support for Ukraine in the production of long-range missiles, not only caused economic controversy but also poses serious risks to Germany's security.
According to the lawmaker, the Berlin government is also at risk of escalating tensions with Russia and marking opportunities to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, despite the efforts of US President Donald Trump.
For its part, Russia has always affirmed that Western military aid to Ukraine will not change the outcome of the conflict, warning that the war will escalate if Europe continues this action.
In addition to the preconditions regarding Ukraine's territory and NATO membership, Moscow also sees the West's suspension of arms supply to Kiev as an important part of the peace negotiations process.
