President Donald Trump called Charlie Kirk's death "a dark moment for America" and said he would posthumously award Kirk the Presidential freedom Medal.
On the evening of September 10 (local time) at Utah Valley University (bang Utah), Charlie Kirk, 31 years old, founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was shot while speaking in front of thousands of people. Immediately after the assassination, President Donald Trump praised Kirk as a "uthernity martyr", condemning him as the result of "hatred speech from the far-left extremist group". Mr. Trump announced that he would posthumously award the Presidential freedom Medal to Kirk at a "huge crowd" ceremony.
The Democratic Party also spoke out simultaneously, but emphasized the need to condemn all forms of political violence instead of blaming each other.
