President Donald Trump called Charlie Kirk's death "a dark moment for America" and said he would posthumously award Kirk the Presidential freedom Medal.
On the evening of September 10 (local time) at Utah Valley University (bang Utah), Charlie Kirk, 31 years old, founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was shot while speaking in front of thousands of people. Hung fired from the roof of a building in the campus, firing only one shot from a rifle, killing Kirk on the spot, then quickly escaping.
The FBI identified the suspect as a collegged man, but did not disclose details about his appearance to avoid obstructing the investigation. The agency released a picture of a needs-to-verify violation and called on people for support, and offered a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest.

According to the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Weapons and Explosives (ATF), the gun is believed to be a long-range Mauser bullet size of 30-06, imported. Notably, the bullet shells and ammunition at the scene have engraved with words carrying a message supporting transgender people and anti- backpacking ideology.
This information makes the case even more sensitive in the context of the deep division of American society between the right and left wings.
Immediately after the assassination, President Donald Trump praised Kirk as a "uthernity martyr", condemning him as the result of "hatred speech from the far-left extremist group". Mr. Trump announced that he would posthumously award the Presidential freedom Medal to Kirk at a "huge crowd" ceremony.
The Democratic Party also spoke out simultaneously, but emphasized the need to condemn all forms of political violence instead of blaming each other.
Charlie Kirk is known for his heated university debates and close ally ties with Trump. Charlie Kirk's death not only left a big gap in the young conservative movement, but also increased the already fierce political tensions in the US.
The FBI has now set up a website for people to upload videos and images related to the assassination. This is a particularly serious case, we need maximum public cooperation, the FBI statement stressed.
