On June 23, Israeli officials said that hundreds of members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in the latest Israeli airstrike, targeting a series of locations in the capital Tehran (Iran).
The headquarters of the Basij semi-military militia is under the IRGC and is one of the targets on the list of shots suffered by the Israeli army on June 23.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the Alborz Corps, which is responsible for the security of several areas in Tehran, was also attacked. The IDF further revealed that many parts of the Iranian military regime's military forces were attacked, along with assets belonging to the Internal Security Forces and IRGC.
The IDF also attacked the headquarters of Tharallah, a commander in the IRGC and responsible for defending Tehran against security threats.
The Israeli strikes began after several Iranian missile strikes on Israel, which have affected several areas across the country, including a strategic power infrastructure in southern Israel.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Iran must pay for every rifle fired at the rear of Israel, while affirming that Tehran will continue to suffer retaliatory attacks with the full military power of Tel Aviv.
The IDF further confirmed that access points to Iran's Fordow nuclear facility were also targeted in an Israeli attack on June 23.
Not stopping there, in the early morning of June 23 (local time), the IDF attacked 6 airports in western, eastern and central Iran, damaging runways, underpasses, 1 refueling aircraft and fighter jets, including the F-14, F-5 and AH-1.
In addition, more than 15 fighter jets of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) have targeted launch and storage sites for surface-to-surface missiles in the Kermanshah area, located in western Iran, the military said.
