At least 36 people have been killed in shelling and airstrikes in Palestinian territory since US President Donald Trump called on Israel to stop strikes on October 3, according to local health officials.
Among the victims, 18 died in scattered attacks and 18 others, including children, died in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Tuffah, Gaza city, according to medical staff.
The attack in Tuffah also injured many others and damaged many neighboring buildings.
Israel said it had attacked a Hamas element suspected of threatening soldiers in the area and that reports of casualties were being considered.
The Israeli military later said it was resentful about any damage to unrelated civilians and always tried to minimize their risks.
Meanwhile, Hamas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of lying about his commitment to reducing anti-civilian military activities over the bombing and slaughter on October 4.
The Israeli airstrike comes as President Trump has asked Israel to stop bombing after Hamas said it was ready to release hostages under its plan to end a two-year war.
Even on October 4, Trump said, Israel had agreed to an effective initial withdrawal line inside Gaza.
