According to the latest weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), two low pressure areas LPA 09b and LPA 09c are being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
According to the updated bulletin at 8:00 AM on September 11 (Philippines time), LPA 09b is located about 1,040km west of southwest Luzon, at coordinates 13.9 degrees North latitude and 111.6 degrees East longitude. Currently, this low pressure area is in the western Philippines, in the sea near the East Sea. The system is assessed by PAGASA as likely to develop into an average tropical depression in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, low pressure LPA 09c is located about 2,875km east of East Visayas, at coordinates 11.4 degrees North latitude and 151.8 degrees East longitude. This low pressure area is currently outside PAR but is assessed as difficult to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.
PAGASA recommends that people continue to follow updates to grasp the developments of the two systems.
Besides the activity of low pressure areas, the southwest monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Luzon and Visayas on September 11, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rains.
In many places in the Philippines, the southwest monsoon (Habagat) continues to cause moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warns that heavy rains could cause sudden flooding and landslides in affected areas.
