On August 11 (Philippines time), according to the latest weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon Peilou has left the agency's monitoring area.
Peilou remained outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) throughout its operation and did not affect the weather in the Philippines.
PAGASA also said that as of the above time, this agency has not monitored any other low pressure areas or tropical cyclones.
While Peilou is no longer tracked by PAGASA, the southwest monsoon (Habagat) continues to be a notable weather pattern in the Philippines on August 11.
PAGASA forecasts that Habagat will cause clouds and rain in Luzon. In Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro, scattered rain is forecast during the day.
Some areas in these provinces may experience moderate to heavy rain. These weather conditions may increase the risk of flash floods and landslides.
In the remaining areas of Luzon, it is forecast to be cloudy at times, accompanied by scattered showers or thunderstorms due to the influence of the southwest monsoon.
The Philippine weather agency also noted that the risk of flash floods or landslides may occur during strong thunderstorms.
Peilou's departure from PAGASA's monitoring area took place after the system operated outside PAR.
People in areas with moderate to heavy rain are reminded of the risk of flash floods and landslides, especially during heavy thunderstorms.
Thus, after Peilou left the monitoring area, Habagat continued to be the main factor dominating the weather in Luzon on August 11, with rain and thunderstorms forecast in many areas.
