On August 24, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said that a flight from Trabzon (Türkiye) to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) on the same day by Flynas airline was suddenly delayed while flying.
According to information from the Ministry, the Airbus A320 carrying 169 passengers and 8 crew members sent an emergency signal for engine failure at 7:49 p.m. (local time). The incident occurred 8 minutes after takeoff.
After receiving the emergency signal, Flynas' plane was immediately instructed by air traffic controllers at Trabzon airport to land on runway 11. The emergency landing process took place safely and was completed at 20:18 (local time).
The health of 169 passengers and crew on the plane is fine, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said in an official statement.
However, the cause of the plane's engine failure was not disclosed and the Ministry did not provide any further information about the investigation.
