According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang, the working trip lasting until April 17 of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man is of particular importance both on the multilateral and bilateral fronts.
First, the National Assembly of Vietnam always takes the lead, actively promotes cooperation within the framework of the IPU; proactively proposes and promotes many initiatives and practical contributions to the activities of the IPU and is ready to work with the parliaments of member countries and the IPU to implement resolutions and initiatives of the IPU to contribute to maintaining peace and ensuring sustainable development for the benefit of nations around the world.
In addition, the Vietnamese National Assembly has participated in many leadership and administration mechanisms of the IPU, receiving high confidence from the parliaments of member countries in the leadership and leading capacity of the Vietnamese National Assembly. These are important foundations for the Vietnamese National Assembly to continue to promote its role and contribute in a new mindset, a new position at IPU-152.
The National Assembly Chairwoman will deliver an important speech, sharing Vietnam's vision on global and regional issues, and proposing specific action solutions to promote inter-parliamentary cooperation. The Vietnamese National Assembly will discuss with parliaments of countries the roadmap to improve legislative efficiency, supervision and promote multilateral cooperation to realize common goals. Within the framework of the conference, the National Assembly Chairwoman will have meetings, exchanges, and contacts with parliamentary leaders of countries, IPU leaders and international organizations.
I believe that the working trip will bring new impetus to Vietnam's relations with important partners. With Turkey, this is the 8-year visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam. The visit is an opportunity for the two sides to strengthen political trust, deepen the cooperation channel between the two National Assemblies in particular, and promote the essence of bilateral relations in general. With Italy, the visit is an opportunity for the two sides to realize the Joint Statement of senior leaders of the two countries on strengthening the Vietnam-Italy Strategic Partnership, as well as the Action Plan on cooperation between the two countries in stages. The visit is expected to bring the Vietnam-Italy Strategic Partnership into depth, substance and effectiveness in all fields. On this occasion, the Chairman of the National Assembly will also meet with Pope Leo XIV and Vatican President Pietro Parolin" - Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang revealed.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs assessed that, besides the actual results achieved, the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Italy and Turkey is still very large. Vietnam expects to bring relations with Italy to a new height by promoting cooperation across all Party, State, Parliament channels and in key areas such as economy, science and technology. With Turkey, the focus is on strengthening legislative, security, economic and Halal agriculture cooperation.
With the foundation of long-standing traditional relations and good cooperation, I expect and believe that the working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will achieve many positive results, making practical contributions to consolidating and expanding cooperation fields between Vietnam and Italy and Turkey. The meetings of the National Assembly Chairman with the Pope and the Prime Minister of the Vatican City will also further strengthen the relationship that is on a good development path between Vietnam and the Vatican City today. I also believe that the working trip will open up new opportunities, important motivations, and mobilize resources to serve the country towards the aspiration for strong development in the new era, continuing to contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and in the world" - Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang shared.
