The US Treasury Department announced changes to the new regulations to limit imports of Cuban-origin alcohol and tobacco products, while preventing tourists from attending or holding certain meetings and professional conferences in Cuba, Fox News reported on September 23.
The new US policy on Cuba also includes a ban on other public performances, seminars, contests and exhibitions in the country.
With the new policy, US citizens who want to travel to Cuba to do the above activities will need to apply for a specific license, according to a statement from the US Treasury Department.
President Donald Trump also imposed new sanctions on Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
According to Fox News, this announcement was made in Donald Trump's speech honoring veterans of Con Lon Bay.
The Gulf of Tonkin Veterans Association supported Donald Trump in the 2016 US presidential election, and Mr. Trump thanked the association for officially supporting him in running for a second term in the 2020 US election in his speech on September 23 from the White House.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump's opponent in the 2020 US election, former Vice President Joe Biden, said he would consider overturning this decision if he were elected president in the upcoming November 3 election. The Democratic candidate also pledged to begin a new trial of diplomatic efforts with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
Meanwhile, Democratic National Committee spokesman Enrique Gutierrez accused the new sanctions imposed by the Trump administration on Cuba of being part of an effort to attract Cuban-American voters in Florida.
CNN noted that Florida is considered by many analysts to be a "victory" state for President Trump if he wants to be re-elected in the US election next November.
The 2020 US Election poll by ABC News/W Washington Post on September 23 showed that Mr. Donald Trump is supported by voters at 51% compared to Democratic candidate Joe Biden currently supported by 47%.
