On May 14, Kiev officials said that Russia's large-scale airstrikes on the Ukrainian capital on the night of May 13 killed 1 person and injured at least 31 others, amid increased attacks by Moscow after the short-term ceasefire ended.
AFP reporters in Kiev said that the alarm sounded before a series of explosions lasting all night, forcing many people to take shelter at the subway station.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia has launched more than 670 attack UAVs and 56 missiles, mainly aimed at targets in Kiev.
Mr. Zelensky said that this is not an action of the side wanting to end the war and called on international partners not to remain silent about this attack. He also warned that there may be more people trapped under the rubble.
According to the Ukrainian leader, more than 20 locations in Kiev were damaged, including people's houses, schools, veterinary facilities and many other civil infrastructures.
The Ukrainian emergency agency announced 1 death and a total of 31 injuries, including a child, in attacks throughout Kiev. Military officials said that 6 districts of the capital and 6 surrounding areas were affected.
Attacks from Russia and Ukraine resumed after Russia ended a three-day ceasefire on May 12.
