Russia controls 2 more settlements in Ukraine in the past day

The Russian Ministry of Defense on August 5 announced progress in Sumy and Zaporozhye along with figures that Ukraine lost nearly 1,400 soldiers on various fronts.

The Russian army has liberated 2 settlements in the Sumy and Zaporozhye regions in the past 24 hours, within the framework of a special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

Units of the Northern Operations Group seized control of the Ryzhevka settlement in the Sumy region through active offensive operations. Units of the Eastern Operations Group advanced deep into the enemy's defense line and liberated the Zarnitsa settlement in the Zaporozhye region," the ministry said in a statement.

According to the latest data, the Ukrainian army has lost about 1,380 soldiers in battles with Russian forces throughout the front lines.

Data shows that Ukraine lost about 290 soldiers and 1 armored fighting vehicle in the area of responsibility of the Northern Combat Group; more than 210 soldiers and 1 tank and 1 armored vehicle in the Western Combat Group area; about 160 soldiers and 2 armored vehicles in the Southern Combat Group area.

In addition, there are more than 325 soldiers and 2 armored vehicles in the Central Operations Group area; more than 360 soldiers and 4 armored vehicles in the Eastern Operations Group area; and about 35 soldiers and 2 jamming stations in the Dnepr Operations Group area.

Russia's Northern Operations Group has caused losses to 2 mechanized brigades and 1 airborne brigade of the Ukrainian army in areas near Pisarevka, Ulanovo and Sadki in the Sumy region.

In the direction of Kharkov, these units also caused losses to 3 mechanized brigades, 1 attack regiment and 4 territorial defense brigades in areas near Karasevka, Sosnovy Bor, Kupino, Izbitskoye and Ivanovka.

The Western Combat Group has gained better lines and positions, causing damage to 2 mechanized brigades, 1 Marine Brigade and a territorial defense brigade in areas near Podliman in the Kharkov region, along with Svyatogorsk, Donetskoye, Mayaki and Stary Karavan in the Donetsk People's Republic. Russian forces also destroyed 2 US-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-attack radar stations and 3 electronic warfare systems of the Ukrainian army.

The Southern Operations Group improved its front position, causing losses to 5 mechanized brigades, 1 attacking brigade, 1 attacking regiment and a marine brigade in areas near Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Yasnogorka, Nikanorovka, Orekhovatka, Verolyubovka and Popasnoye.

The Central Operations Group caused losses to 3 mechanized brigades, 1 jaeger brigade, 1 attack regiment, 1 marine brigade and 4 National Guard brigades in areas near Vodyanskoye, Annovka, Gruzskoye, Novotroitskoye and Matyashevo of Donetsk and Raipole of Dnepropetrovsk region.

The Eastern Operations Group caused losses to 1 attacking brigade, 3 airborne brigades, 4 attacking regiments and 1 marine brigade in areas near Vasilkovka, Podgavrilovka, Novorozovka, Mikorka, Novoye Pole, Trudoolenovka and Shirokoye.

The Dnepr combat cluster caused damage to 1 mechanized brigade and 1 mountain attack brigade in areas near Orekhov, Yulyevka and Zaporozhets.
