RT reported that on April 8, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the next negotiation to improve diplomatic relations with the US will take place in the city of Istanbul (Türkiye) in the next few days.
The announcement of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the removal of technical barriers that complicate the daily operations of diplomats on both sides will continue to be implemented.
The Russian delegation will be led by the new Ambassador to Washington, Mr. Aleksandr Darchiev. On the US side, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in charge of the Asia- Europe region, Ms. Sonata Coulter, will lead the delegation. Representatives from the two foreign ministries will also participate.
Last week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also mentioned the plan to organize a new round of talks. Mr. Lavrov said that Moscow and Washington have kept in touch by phone and in person to prepare for the upcoming meeting.

The first summit took place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on February 18, focusing on restoring the operation of embassies and easing restrictions. A further round in Istanbul on February 27 discussed diplomatic sponsorship and proposed restoring direct flights between the two countries from Russia.
Last month, the delegations of both sides met again in Saudi Arabia and agreed to restore the Black Sea Campion Initiative. After the meeting, President Donald Trump signaled that Washington could consider lifting some sanctions to promote the deal - which is seen as a step towards a resolution of the Ukrainian conflict.
Also according to RT, in recent years, Russia and the US have cut personnel at each other's diplomatic agencies, imposed banking restrictions and seized diplomatic assets. The Ukraine conflict escalates from 2022, making bilateral tensions more serious, leading to more restrictive measures.
President Trump is now gradually lifting Joe Biden's policies, calling for a quick resolution of the Ukrainian conflict and a resettlement of US-Russia relations.
