Russian armed forces attacked oil refineries and logistics centers in Kiev and 5 other Ukrainian cities, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on August 27.
Last night, Russian armed forces launched a large-scale attack with high-precision weapons launched from the ground, in the air and at sea, along with unmanned aerial vehicles attacking and destroying facilities belonging to the defense industrial complex, metallurgy and oil refining industries, and logistics centers in Kiev, Borispol, Zaporizhia, Kremenchug, Krivoy Rog and Ilyichevka," the statement stated.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the targets hit included a drone assembly facility in Kiev province, where Hornet patrol shells are produced, and the Sun Park transport and logistics center in Kiev - an office and warehouse complex described as the largest storage and distribution center for FPV attack drones, ground control stations and accompanying components.
In the city of Kremenchug, Poltava province, a refinery supplying fuel and lubricants to the Ukrainian army, and also used to transship imported oil products from abroad, was also hit. In Ilyichevka, Odessa province, a drone assembly facility and a nitrate ammonia production plant serving the Ukrainian army are on the target list.
Along with that are the steel mills in Zaporizhia and Krivoy Rog - according to the Russian side, they are the main steel suppliers for military manufacturing activities. At Borispol, the Alexandrovsky transport and logistics center, a large-scale dual-use storage facility containing components for medium and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, was also attacked.
In the coastal area, Russian forces attacked infrastructure items at the ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Reni, which are used to receive and store military goods along with fuel and lubricant for the Ukrainian army, and energy facilities to ensure the operation of the port system in Odessa province.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that 24 military equipment warehouses at the two ports of Odessa and Chernomorsk were hit by precision guided weapons. At Reni port, infrastructure items serving the loading and unloading of military goods and fuel also suffered the same fate.
At the command post of the Southern Combat Group, General Gerasimov said that this force is attacking on a front of about 160km wide in many directions simultaneously and "has penetrated the first defense line of the Slavyansk - Kramatorsk solid defense area in some areas".
