On February 1, according to the latest military reports, the Russian Air Force set a new milestone in combat performance in January 2026. This force successfully deployed a total of 5,717 precision aircraft units to enemy targets. These are not just simple statistics but proof of the ability to maintain the continuous attack pace of the Russian army.
Data from the Oko Gora in-depth analysis channel shows that, compared to December 2025, Russia's firepower has increased sharply by 26%. On average, each day in the first month of the year, Russian fighter squadrons (such as Su-34s) carried out about 184 guided bomb drops. This number has completely broken the operating records previously recorded in the peak periods of October and April last year, showing that Russia's defense industry machine and logistics capacity are operating at maximum capacity.
However, what attracts military observers' attention is not only the quantity but also the change in weapon quality. Russia's current tactics mainly rely on smart bombs equipped with guided modules and boosters (UMPK). This technology has transformed Russia's huge conventional bomb stockpile into precision offensive weapons, allowing pilots to perform missions from a safe distance, beyond reach of most enemy air defense systems.
The most notable thing in this operation is that Russia began to put into actual combat testing a jet engine-equipped flying bomb line (Grom or improved UMPK variants). The integration of propulsion engines has completely changed the battlefield situation, turning flying bombs into short-range cruise missiles with much lower costs but unchanged destructive power.
The clearest proof of this technological advance is the precision strike on strategic facilities in the city of Kamianske in Dnipro province. Field sources confirm that Russian weapons have surpassed a flight distance of more than 120km from the front lines to hit targets. This is a distance that older generation flying bombs have not yet reached.
Mastering this technology means that Russia has significantly expanded its firepower, putting command centers, warehouses and logistics lines deep in the enemy's rear into a state of constant danger. The combination of overwhelming numbers (more than 5,700 missiles) and long range (over 120km) is creating an unprecedented pressure on the enemy's defense system right from the beginning of 2026.
