On the morning of January 30, a large explosion occurred at a fireworks factory in Don Chedi district, Suphan Buri province (Thailand), near the Wat Dong Kra Chao pagoda area. The strong explosion shook the surrounding area, causing many people to panic.
The explosion caused serious damage to the factory and affected some neighboring structures. A thick column of smoke rising high, which can be observed from a distance, shows the severity of the incident.
According to a report from the Suphan Buri Provincial Rescue Association, at least 1 person was killed and 3 people were injured, including seriously injured cases. Rescue forces quickly arrived at the scene to give first aid and transfer the victims to the nearest hospital.
Local authorities have cordoned off the explosion area to ensure public safety, due to concerns about the risk of further explosions. People are advised to stay away from the scene, especially the roads around Wat Dong Kra Chao Pagoda, to create conditions for ambulances and functional forces to perform their duties.
Currently, the cause of the explosion is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
