On August 13, US Representative John Mc Guire said that the shooting in Gretna town, southern Virginia, injured many law enforcement officers.
At least three deputy police chiefs were injured by guns while executing a search warrant at a house, according to US media.
Clip footage circulating online shows that a large number of forces were quickly mobilized to the scene immediately after the shooting, including firefighters, medical staff and many law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Mc Guire wrote on X: "I pray and send my best wishes to the deputy police chiefs who were shot in Pittsylvania County, as well as their families. We are closely monitoring the situation and always thinking about all those affected at this difficult time".
However, up to now, there has been no official information released about the exact number of injured deputy police chiefs, suspects and the status of the fire fighters.
Meanwhile, Virginia police said the suspect has now been arrested, but did not provide any other information about the incident.
