On November 25, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that Pakistan had carried out an airstrike in Khost province, killing 9 children and 1 woman.
Mujahid said the attack in Gerbzwo district and the house of the person named Wilayat Khan were completely destroyed. He posted information with images on the X platform to accuse Pakistan of causing casualties to civilians.
According to Mujahid, Pakistan also carried out raids in Kunar and Paktika provinces, injuring four people. The army and the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan have not yet commented.
The series of incidents took place just one day after a double-dead bombing that killed three members of the paramilitary force in the city of Peshawar, Pakistan.
Tensions between the two countries have increased recently. In October, the military forces of Pakistan and Afghanistan clashed, killing dozens, considered the most serious outbreak of violence since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
After that, the two sides signed a ceasefire in Doha (Qatar), but the negotiations held in Turkey broke down due to disagreements regarding armed groups operating in Afghanistan that were considered by Pakistan as a security threat.
Observers say the latest attacks could continue to put the relationship between the two countries in a spiral of tension, while dialogue mechanisms have stalled and there are no signs of being resumed soon.
