    Shooting occurred in the Philippine Senate, people were asked to find shelter.

    More than ten gunshots were heard in the Philippine Senate on May 13. When the shooting occurred, people were asked to run to find shelter.

    Philippine military forces were deployed in the Senate on the evening of May 13 to prepare in the context of a senator being wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

    Witnesses said that soldiers were seen inside the Senate building, some people carrying rifles attacking.

    Senator Ronald dela Rosa has been hiding in his legislative office since May 11 when the ICC confirmed it was seeking to arrest him on charges of crimes against humanity.

    Mr. Ronald dela Rosa, 64 years old, used to be the police chief supervising the fight against drugs under Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

    On May 13, the Philippine Senate was heavily guarded, with many police lines deployed to maintain order as protesters gathered, including those calling for the arrest of Mr. Ronald dela Rosa.
