Trump: Russia-Ukraine conflict is the most difficult conflict ever to deal with

US President Donald Trump said efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict are progressing.

On August 6 (local time), according to TASS news agency, US President Donald Trump said that the Russia-Ukraine conflict is the most difficult conflict he has ever faced, and affirmed that efforts to end the conflict are still progressing.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Mr. Trump said the US administration is continuing to promote diplomatic activities to move towards a solution to the conflict that has lasted for more than 4 years between Russia and Ukraine.

We are working on this issue and I think we are making progress," Mr. Trump said.

However, the US President did not specify what the steps he mentioned were, nor did he provide further information about diplomatic contacts, negotiations or new initiatives related to the peace process.

Mr. Trump also recalled the achievements he believes he has made in handling international crises.

I have resolved 8 conflicts. I once thought this might be one of the easier-to-resolve conflicts, but it turned out to be the most difficult. However, progress is still being made," Trump emphasized.

This is not the first time the US President has expressed the view that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is more complicated than initially expected. In many previous statements, he has affirmed that the conflict can be quickly ended if the parties are willing to participate in negotiations.

The latest comments were made in the context of Washington continuing to maintain diplomatic efforts to promote dialogue between Moscow and Kiev. However, so far no signs have emerged that the two sides can soon reach a comprehensive agreement on a ceasefire or a long-term peace solution.

Observers believe that the negotiation process still faces many obstacles, from security and territorial issues to the conditions that each side puts forward before resuming direct dialogue.

However, the White House still affirms that President Trump's administration's goal is to continue pursuing diplomatic measures to find a solution to end the conflict.
