In Tam Tinh Doi, Chinese archaeologists have discovered a workshop for making stone and pearl artifacts that are over 3,400 years old.
The latest archaeological discovery at the legendary Tam Tinh Doi site helps reveal the origin of previously excavated cultural artifacts, according to Xinhua.
The stone and pearl processing workshop in Tam Tinh Doi is located about 1km north of the nearest excavated donation pit.
This discovery is a significant step forward in the archaeological excavation at the legendary site in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, the Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Relics of Sichuan Province informed on July 23.
Archaeologists have determined that this initial workshop for the production of bullion and stone contains artifacts such as rough joints, raw stones, finished products as well as debris. These traces show that there has been a relatively complete manual process at Tam Tinh Doi's workshop.
The discovery of the workshop sheds light on some mysteries, such as the origin of the large amount of stone and pearl materials in Tam Tinh Doi, the techniques used in the processing, production process and related distribution methods - Honglin, the person in charge of archaeological activities at Tam Tinh Doi relic site, shared.
