Concluding high-level talks, Vietnam and Russia adopt 50-agreement Joint Statement
On September 9 (local time), at the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin and General Secretary and President To Lam held high-level talks, adopting a Joint Statement of 50 provisions to deepen the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The two sides affirmed similar positions in international issues, resolutely protecting international law and national sovereignty.
The two leaders identified fuel - energy as a strategic breakthrough, committed to promoting oil and gas cooperation, supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) and continuing to implement the Nuclear Science and Technology Research Center project in Vietnam for peaceful purposes.
In particular, the two countries agreed to make science and technology, innovation and digital transformation a new pillar; expand research on artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technology, space technology, and strengthen defense and security cooperation.
Iran declares maritime tightening, bans violating ships from crossing the Strait of Hormuz
On the same day, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it would issue a permanent ban on passing through the Strait of Hormuz for any ships violating the newly established maritime no-go zone.
According to TASS, IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebi said that violating ships will have all maritime services, logistics and insurance cut off, and will be permanently deprived of the right to transit through the Strait of Hormuz in the future.
The restricted area is located in the east of the Strait of Hormuz, including the port city of Chabahar and the waters of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.
Apple launches first folding iPhone along with iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max duo
In another development, on September 9 (local time), at Cupertino headquarters (California, USA), new CEO John Ternus hosted Apple's autumn event, officially announcing a series of key technology products.
The focus of the event is iPhone Duo - Apple's first folding screen phone with a super-thin titanium frame, an integrated fingerprint sensor on the edge and an expansion mechanism similar to a small book or iPad. The device has a starting price of $1,999, expected to open for sale from October 23.
On this occasion, Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro duo (6.3 inches) and 18 Pro Max (6.9 inches) with 4 color options: black, silver, ice white and wine red. Both versions are equipped with A20 Pro processor with a 2nm process, silicon-carbon battery lasting up to 24 to 30 hours, and a significantly streamlined Dynamic Island cluster. The product has a starting price from 1,199 USD for the 256GB version, officially on shelves from September 18.
