US announces destroying 5 Iranian oil tankers

UK cancels more than 1,000 flights
On the same day, more than 1,000 flights in the UK were canceled after a technical incident disrupted the air traffic control system.
The British National Air Traffic Service (NATS) said it had detected a technical problem in the flight handling system. The incident affected departure operations nationwide, leading to flight delays and cancellations at many airports.
Major airports such as Heathrow, Edinburgh and Manchester are all affected. Flightradar24 data shows that the number of canceled flights at airports across the UK exceeded 1,000 on the evening of September 8.
NATS said it has implemented measures to fix the problem, but the operational recovery process is longer than expected. The agency then announced that the system has been processed and is operating normally again.
