Turkey summons Ukrainian Ambassador after series of ship attacks in Black Sea
On August 29 (local time), the Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador to Ankara to respond to a series of attacks targeting ships operated by Turkey in the Black Sea, according to Xinhua news agency.
Sources said that Turkey requested Ukraine to ensure the safety of people, property and operations of ships in the Black Sea, and at the same time avoid affecting the environment.
The above move took place after the cargo ship Lider Bordo Mavi operated by Turkey was attacked off Tuapse, Black Sea, on August 26. On August 27, the ship Lider Kocatepe was dispatched to tow the attacked ship, but then also became a target.
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz previously warned that the increasing attacks not only threaten lives and property but also affect maritime safety and global food supplies.
Ukraine accused of 27 attacks on residential areas in Donetsk
On the same day, according to TASS news agency, Ukrainian forces carried out 27 attacks targeting residential areas in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) within 24 hours, injuring one civilian.
The agency in charge of recording Ukrainian attacks in the DPR said that a total of 27 types of ammunition were used. Gorlovka is the area recording the most attacks with 21 cases, followed by Donetsk with 3 cases, Volnovakha with 2 cases and Makeevka with 1 case.
The attacks are believed to have damaged 6 civilian infrastructures, a residential building and a tanker truck belonging to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Israeli Prime Minister condemns settler violence in West Bank
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attacks carried out by Israeli settlers in the two villages of Qusra and Jalud in the West Bank, calling them illegal acts and demanding the arrest of those involved.
According to Xinhua, many Palestinians were injured in the attacks. In Qusra, dozens of masked Israeli settlers stormed the village and attacked Palestinians. In Jalud, a Palestinian family and foreign journalists were also attacked.
Mr. Netanyahu said that these actions harm Israel's international position and hinder the military's operations in the West Bank.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, more than 1,330 attacks by settlers causing casualties or property damage to Palestinians were recorded in the West Bank in the first 7 months of 2026.
