On the evening of September 9, Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn and President Simeon Beckett arrived in Hanoi, starting a state visit to Vietnam from September 9-12, at the invitation of Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife.
The visit is of great significance, affirming the determination of both countries in continuously strengthening friendship and cooperation in all fields.
On the morning of September 10, in Hanoi, Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn came to place a wreath and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.





On the same afternoon, President Luong Cuong will host a welcoming ceremony and hold talks with Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn.
In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Ambassador Sam Mostyn will also meet with senior Vietnamese leaders to reaffirm the strength of bilateral relations and honor common priorities, including trade and investment, climate change response, education and security.
