According to information from Moscow, Russian UAV control forces are always on duty to monitor the river area to prevent Ukrainian units from penetrating. In the latest incident, Russian detectives discovered a canoe carrying Ukrainian soldiers in the river mouth area. Immediately afterwards, FPV-style attack drones were deployed to intercept and attack.
Video released by the Russian Defense Ministry shows multiple precision shells hitting the canoe directly, causing a series of explosions. The canoe sank on the spot, while the Ukrainian task force tried to flee unsuccessfully.
Russia insists all expectations of a missile have been eliminated from the battle. The Ministry of National Defense said that this is a testament to the effectiveness of the UAV strategy combining reconnaissance and attack in controlling the Dnepr River.
Moscow also reiterated that in recent months, there have been many cases of Ukraine trying to deploy airstrikes into Russian territory. Last month, the Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the arrest of a group believed to be trained by the West in the Bryansk region.
These people were discovered carrying US guns, Czech explosives and a large quantity of NATO-standard bombs and ammunition. The group also claimed to have been involved in the collapse of a railway in Russia and planned new attacks.
The Dnepr River, which flows through Ukraine and flows into the Black Sea, has long been a hot spot of fighting as both sides seek to control river crossings. Russia's continued release of videos of targets on the river shows that the country is increasing its deterrent message against Ukraine's incursions.
