On December 6, Ukraine's national railway company Ukrzaliznytsia said that the railway center near Kiev was attacked by Russian UAVs (drones) and missiles, causing damage to train hangars and carriages.
According to a Telegram announcement from Ukrazaliznytsia, the company has had to cancel several suburban trains near the capital and the city of Chernihiv in northeastern Ukraine to ensure safety.
Meanwhile, the rescue team's report showed fire and damage in the terminal and train storage area but did not provide further details.
However, up to now, Ukrazaliznytsia has not recorded any casualties in the overnight attack in the town of Fastiv - where the attack occurred.
In addition, power generation and heating facilities in Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and Dnipro regions were attacked in another Russian airstrike, according to the Ministry of Community and Regional Development of Ukraine.
The ministry said on Telegram that 9,500 customers were still without heating and 34,000 customers were without water in the southern Odesa region.
The port facility in Odesa was also attacked: part of the infrastructure was without power and the operator had to switch to using backup power from the transmitter, the Ministrys announcement stated.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry said the attack hit energy infrastructure in eight regions overnight, causing widespread power outages.
"Emergency repairs are being carried out in places where safety conditions permit. Energy companies are making every effort to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry added.
