The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) issued a statement on July 13 saying that the suspects were killed in the Kiev area after they resisted at the time of their arrest. The video released by SBU shows the two bodies lying on the ground.
The agency said earlier that a man and a woman were suspected of being involved in the assassination of Colonel SBU Ivanvoronych in an attack on the afternoon of July 10.
Colonelvoronych has been involved in covert operations in Russian-controlled territories in Ukraine and helped carry out a surprise attack by Ukraine on Russia's Kursk region last year.
Ukrainian media also posted images from security cameras showing a man carrying a walking bag in the parking lot and being attacked by another man.
The suspect who shot the victim with a submachine gun was 5, a source from SBU noted. SBU found a sub machete with sub machinery that the attackers had stored in hiding.
The group that killed Colonelvoronych spent time researching his daily schedule and itinerary, according to SBU.
