    All foreign activities in the Hoang Sa archipelago without the permission of Vietnam are completely illegal.

    On January 9, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang answered reporters' questions asking to know Vietnam's reaction to China's opening of a trade center on Phu Lam Island in Vietnam's Hoang Sa archipelago.

    Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang affirmed that Vietnam has sufficient historical evidence and legal basis to affirm Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago in accordance with international law.

    All activities of foreign countries in the Hoang Sa archipelago without the permission of the Vietnamese side are completely illegal and invalid, Vietnam resolutely opposes" - Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized.
