Heartfelt opinions of overseas Vietnamese
Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) said that the campaign to collect opinions from overseas Vietnamese on the draft Political Report submitted to the 14th Party Congress has been widely deployed in the overseas Vietnamese community from all continents.
The opinions of overseas Vietnamese, associations, networks/groups of experts, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, students, women... express the spirit of responsibility, belief and desire to contribute to the homeland, vividly reflecting the attachment of our compatriots abroad to the Fatherland. The opinions all express the belief, feelings, spirit of responsibility and desire to accompany the Fatherland, considering contributing opinions to the draft Document as an opportunity to express the patriotism and wisdom of the Vietnamese community around the globe.
Overall, overseas Vietnamese assessed that this draft Political Report has high quality and strategic vision, clearly showing the intercommunication between three important fields: economy - society - Party building. Many opinions highly appreciated the innovation in leadership thinking when for the first time four major reports were integrated into a single Political Report and the inclusion of the Action Program implemented right in the Report, showing the spirit of "saying with doing".
Regarding the theme of the Congress, overseas Vietnamese expressed their unity and high consensus, considering this a short, clear message, expressing the aspiration for development and the spirit of great national unity.
Regarding the development policy, overseas Vietnamese highly appreciate the new orientations, emphasizing the three pillars of science - technology, innovation and digital transformation, considering this as the central driving force of the new development model. Overseas Vietnamese proposed: Building a National Strategy on talent and innovation, connecting intellectual resources at home and abroad; officializing the "knowledge repatriation" policy - bringing Vietnamese knowledge back to serve the country, encouraging Vietnamese experts and intellectuals abroad to participate in national development; promulgating a mechanism to protect people who dare to think and dare to do; developing a national innovation ecosystem, regional and national R&D centers.
Regarding foreign affairs and international integration, many opinions emphasized that nearly 6.5 million overseas Vietnamese are strategic resources and the soft power of the country in international integration and people-to-people diplomacy. The recommendations focused on strengthening coordination between representative agencies and associations, promoting the role of overseas Vietnamese in cultural, scientific, and Vietnamese values diplomacy - developing the "People's Envoy" network to promote the image of a creative, humane and integrated Vietnam.
Regarding policies for overseas Vietnamese, the majority of opinions highly agreed with the spirit of the Draft, affirming that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, a resource of the country and making specific proposals on: creating a stable legal corridor for overseas Vietnamese to feel secure in integrating and contributing; promoting teaching and learning Vietnamese, preserving national cultural identity; administrative reform, digitizing public services; developing exchange programs, scholarships, internships for overseas Vietnamese youth and students; building a global network of intellectuals - entrepreneurs - Vietnamese experts, connecting with local authorities in the country.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien emphasized that the contributions of overseas Vietnamese are both theoretical and very practical, expressing faith in the renovation policy and expecting the 14th Congress to continue to affirm the role of the Vietnamese community abroad in the country's development strategy, contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc, and spreading Vietnam's value and image on the international stage.
The strong call arouses the aspiration of the whole nation to rise up.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, the 14th Party Congress is a milestone of special significance, taking place at a time when the country enters a new stage with the aspiration to enter a new era of development, becoming a developed country with high incomes in the mid-21st century.
Looking back at the historical journey of the nation, the significance of the present time is even clearer. Vietnam is facing a historical opportunity to enter a new era of development - an era of innovation, digital transformation, knowledge economy and deep integration.
With seven important Resolutions issued by the Central Government recently, along with the Resolution of the upcoming 14th National Congress and the next Resolutions in the future, we have enough grounds to believe in a strong, synchronous policy platform, creating motivation to bring the country to realize its 2045 vision: to become a developed, high-income country.
The Vietnamese community abroad always follows and places high expectations on the Congress, because each Party's policy is associated with the future and position of the country, as well as the future and pride of nearly 6.5 million Vietnamese people living around the world.
We firmly believe that the 14th Congress will continue to affirm and promote the Party's innovative thinking, strategic vision and leadership spirit, making correct and breakthrough decisions, both inheriting tradition and opening up a new path of development suitable for the times. The Congress is not only a place to summarize the past journey, but also a strong call to arouse the aspiration to rise up of the entire nation, including the Vietnamese community abroad" - Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien shared.
We believe that our compatriots across five continents will always look towards the Fatherland with deep feelings, firm belief and determination to accompany the Party and State in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland. We expect the 14th Congress to continue to place Vietnamese people - both domestically and internationally - in the center of all development policies; continue to ignite creativity, solidarity, and will to rise up so that the country - Vietnamese homeland develops quickly, sustainably, deeply integrates, and strongly spreads Vietnamese values in the new era" - Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien expressed.
