Answering an interview with VNA before the visit, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu emphasized that the official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia by Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu is of utmost importance.
First of all, the visit is part of the first foreign working trip of the Standing Committee of the Secretariat after the 14th Party Congress as the key leader of the Party and State. The visit took place immediately after the first session of the 16th National Assembly completed the consolidation of state leadership positions, showing the high priority of the Party and State of Vietnam for consolidating and developing traditional friendly and cooperative relations with Cambodia.
Second, the visit takes place right before the Cambodian Lunar New Year, so Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu will represent the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to wish Tet to the leaders, people and friends of Cambodia.
Third, the extremely important content of the visit is to review and exchange to implement the agreements that the leaders of the two Parties and two countries have agreed upon within the framework of the high-level meeting in February in Phnom Penh Capital.
In that spirit, according to the expected schedule, during this visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu will have important talks and meetings with leaders of the Party, Senate, National Assembly and Royal Government of Cambodia, along with many other important activities.
The visit of Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu is considered a step to implement and concretize the content of the high-level meeting between the leaders of the two parties and the two countries in early February as part of the state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia by General Secretary To Lam. Regarding the leading role and importance of party-channel diplomacy in the overall bilateral cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia in the current period, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu pointed out: The reality over the past time shows that the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the CPP is a solid political foundation, playing a core role, leading and orienting all aspects of relations between the two countries. In which, political trust between the two Parties, the two countries of Vietnam and Cambodia is a solid "anchor" and a core foundation to realize the motto "good neighbor, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability". According to the Ambassador, that political trust has been and is helping to orient the strategy for all areas of bilateral cooperation, which is tightened through regular meetings between the highest-level leaders of the two Parties and States. Through this, outstanding issues can be resolved in the spirit of solidarity, friendship, sincerity, and mutual assistance between the two neighboring nations that have stood shoulder to shoulder in the most difficult times. Also at these meetings, leaders of the two Parties and two countries agreed on a vision of cooperation orientations that then ministries, branches and localities of the two sides put into implementation.
