On the afternoon of March 23, 2026, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam received Ms. Men Sam An - Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party, Chairwoman of the National Council of the Cambodian Fatherland Front for Solidarity and Development on the occasion of visiting and working in Vietnam at the invitation of the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
At the reception, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the visit of Ms. Men Sam An and the high-level delegation of the National Council of the Cambodian Fatherland Front for Solidarity and Development, which made an important contribution to strengthening cooperation and attachment between the Fatherland Front agencies of the two countries, consolidating good traditional friendly neighborly relations, comprehensive and long-term sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
General Secretary To Lam congratulated the Fatherland Front agencies of the two countries on signing the Cooperation Agreement for the period 2026-2031; affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always give high priority to friendly relations with Cambodia, support Cambodia's peaceful and stable development, and at the same time create all favorable conditions for the Fatherland Front agencies of the two countries to actively implement the agreements reached and strengthen close cooperation.
Vice Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party, Chairman of the National Council of the Cambodian National United Front for Development Men Sam An congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the election of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council Deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, especially with a voter turnout of over 99%; expressed confidence that under the wise and far-sighted leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will continue to develop and achieve the set goals; expressed joy at the great results that Vietnam has achieved and considered them also Cambodia's achievements.
Vice Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party Men Sam An said that Cambodia always cares and considers Vietnam as a good, sincere neighbor, always helping each other in difficult times, especially the help of volunteer soldiers and the Vietnamese people in the cause of liberating Cambodia from the genocidal regime on January 7, 1979 and recalled the words of Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen, if there were no sacrifice and help from Vietnam, there would be no Cambodia today.
Ms. Men Sam An affirmed that she will closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to promote people-to-people exchanges, cultural cooperation, health, education - training, especially cooperation between border provinces. Expressing her impression of the sharp increase in the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting Cambodia in recent times, Ms. Men Sam An also hoped that relevant Vietnamese agencies would share tourism development experiences in the coming time.
