The Karate Department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) said that 10 members of the Vietnam Karate Team are on the list of awards for the Second Class Labor Medal to recognize the achievement of winning gold medals at the 2025 Asian Championship.
The award decision will be sent to the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports according to regulations. The 8 players awarded the Second Class Labor Medal are: Dinh Thi Huong, Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly, Hoang Thi My Tam, Nguyen Thi Ngoan, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thu Uyen, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram and Bui Ngoc Nhi. The two coaches are named Mr. Nguyen Van Su and Ms. Do Thi Thu Ha.
4 athletes Dinh Thi Huong, Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly, Hoang Thi My Tam and Nguyen Thi Ngoan won gold medals in the kumite (opposite) women's team event at the 2025 Asian Championship held in Uzbekistan (May 2025).
4 athletes Nguyen Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thu Uyen, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram and Bui Ngoc Nhi won gold medals in the kata (performance) category for the women's team at the tournament.
The Vietnamese karate team is currently gathering at the National High-level Athletes' Training Center (Hanoi) to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games. Currently, the Vietnamese karate team is holding the No. 1 position in the women's team kata and women's team kumite events at the SEA Games after winning the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games in Cambodia.
Also in the decision to reward her achievements, boxer Ha Thi Linh (boxing) received the Third Class Labor Medal for her achievement in winning the bronze medal at the 2025 World Championship.
