Vietnam Karate fighters ended the 2025 Asian Youth Championship on September 7 in China, achieving encouraging results.
On the last day, player Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly defeated her opponent Saeidabadi Fatemehzahra (Iran) in the 55kg U21 women's weightlifting final, winning a gold medal. Next, player Tran Thi Cam Tu defeated her opponent Tambat Rusha (India) in the final match of the 59kg women's junior championship, winning the second gold medal for the Vietnam Karate Team.
In addition, the Vietnam Karate Team won 5 more silver medals: individual kata for female teenagers (Nguyen Mai Quynh), individual kata for young female champions (Bui Ngoc Nhi), teammates of the young women's champion, individual kata for women of the U21 age group (Hoang Thi Thu Uyen) and the 68kg weight class for women U21 (Nguyen Thi Man).
The coaching staff highly appreciated the efforts of the players when they had completed their tasks in this year's tournament. Last year, the Vietnam Karate Team did not win a gold medal at the 2024 Asian Youth Championship, with only 6 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.
At the end of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship, the Vietnam team ranked 5th with 2 gold medals and 5 silver medals. The Japanese team topped with the result of 12 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 5 bronze medals.
