On the morning of September 22, the Vietnamese athletics team arrived in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan) ready to compete in the Games.
Athletics will take place from September 24 to September 29.
Therefore, Vietnamese athletics players are introduced to the competition field 2 days before the official competition.
At ASIAD 20, the Vietnamese athletics team registered 25 athletes to participate.
Among them, 2 veteran faces with the most achievements and experience, Nguyen Thi Oanh and Quach Thi Lan, continue to participate.
Nguyen Thi Oanh once won a bronze medal in the women's 3,000m hurdles event at ASIAD 18 in 2018, while Quach Thi Lan won a gold medal in the women's 400m hurdles event at the above Games.
However, the Vietnamese athletics team expects athletes in the women's 4x100m and 4x400m relay events to create a surprise and compete for medals at ASIAD 20.
These two content teams have been training in Japan recently.
On September 22, they gathered with the Vietnamese Athletics Team in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan).
At ASIAD 19, the Vietnamese athletics team failed and did not win a medal.
Before participating in ASIAD 20, the events teams have trained and competed in many rounds of Asian athletics tournaments in 2026.

According to the professional program, the ASIAD 20 Athletics Organizing Committee put 46 events into competition in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan).
