On the afternoon of August 3, the Vietnam women's volleyball team won the runner-up position in the first stage of the 2025 SEA V.League after a narrow 2-3 defeat to the host team Thailand.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team led their opponents twice in sets 1 and 3, but then Thailand equalized and won in the final set.
In the remaining match, the Philippines women's team defeated Indonesia with a score of 3-1, thereby winning the bronze medal in this year's tournament.
At the end of the first phase, the Vietnam women's volleyball team had 3 athletes win individual awards, namely Tran Thi Bich Thuy - Best Middle Blocker, Nguyen Khanh Dang - Best Libero and Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen - Best Opposite Setter.
Meanwhile, Thailand has 4 individual awards: Ajcharaporn - Best Striker, Thatdao - Best Middle Blocker, Pornpun - Best Setter and Pimpichaya - Best Comprehensive Athlete.
In addition, Angel Canino of the Philippines also won the Best Striker award.
