The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just issued Official Letter No. 4480/BGDDT-GDPT to the Departments of Education and Training on comments on the revised programs of some subjects. This amendment aims to meet the requirements of rearranging provincial-level administrative units and implementing two-level local governments.
The review and adjustment of subject programs in the context that the whole country is implementing the National Assembly's Resolution on the arrangement of provincial administrative units. The number of provinces and cities decreased from 63 to 34.
Therefore, the issuance of a Circular amending and supplementing the General Education Program issued with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDDT of the Minister of Education and Training is necessary to ensure the scientific and practical nature of the program.
The Ministry determined that the program of 4 subjects that need to be edited include History and Geography from grade 4 to grade 9; Grade 12 Geography; Grade 10 History and grade 10 Civic Education.
Regarding the revised content, for the subject of Civic Education: Amend and supplement the 10th grade program on the topics of the Political System of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
For History: Amend and supplement the elective study topic in grade 10: The State and laws of Vietnam in history.
For the Geography major in History and Geography: Amend and supplement the program in grade 4, grade 5, grade 8, grade 9 and Geography major in grade 12, the main editing is on socio-economic regions such as: regional boundaries; names and numbers of provinces and cities, area scale, population of the region; economic development resources and development and distribution of economic sectors in socio-economic regions; administrative maps; population maps, maps of sectors and economic regions in Vietnam.
For the History major in History and Geography: amending and supplementing the program in grade 7: The division according to European History, in grade 9: the division of the Innovation process in Vietnam from 1986 to present.
The issuance of a circular amending and supplementing the General Education Program is a legal basis for considering amending the textbook to suit the reality.
The Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training organize comments on the draft revised program of the above subjects and send it to the Ministry of Education and Training before August 8, 2025.
