    The first official competition day of the 33rd SEA Games witnessed many notable changes. As of noon on December 10, the Vietnamese sports delegation won 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals.

    In the leading group, host Thailand started strongly with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal, temporarily holding the number one position on the total rankings. Myanmar unexpectedly ranked second with 2 gold medals, while the Philippines and Indonesia shared the next positions.

    On December 10, it also recorded surprising information when Cambodia decided to withdraw the entire athlete delegation from the 33rd SEA Games due to "serious concerns" related to the requirements of the athletes' families. The decision caused Cambodia to stop playing without winning any medals.
