Which person is suitable?
Two teams, VTV Binh Dien Long An and Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals, will participate in the finals this season. Looking at the list of 14 players of each team, in 2024, VTV Binh Dien Long An team has 3 national players (Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Nguyen Thi Tra My) while Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals only has 1 player (Tran Tu Linh).
The results of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship and the players' performance will be an important basis for head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to select players for the 2025 training camp. Experts say that the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team benefits from the competition format of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship. For the first time, the tournament will compete in the group stage in a round-robin format. As head coach of the Vietinbank team, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet has the best chance of directly understanding the professional performance of all players.
14 players of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team have returned to their home team to compete in this year's tournament. The factors that make a player successful and achieve professional prominence must also be based on coordination with teammates. However, from a professional perspective, Mr. Kiet or the manager of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation has enough data to evaluate the player.
In theory, national champions often contribute many players when the Vietnam Volleyball Team is gathered. However, based on his preparation, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is the one who builds the appropriate force.
In the women's content of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship, many young faces in the teams have had the opportunity to compete, so they will have the opportunity to join the Vietnam U20 Youth Women's Volleyball Team next year.
Maximum focus on SEA Games 33
General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation - Mr. Le Tri Truong shared: “When the 2024 National Volleyball Championship ends, it will also end the national competition organization activities of Vietnamese volleyball. Normally at the end of the year, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will meet to draw experience and propose work directions for the new year. In 2025, we will focus on the national volleyball teams (indoor) and the focus is on the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand”.
This year, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team achieved two notable positive results: winning the AVC Challenge Cup 2024 and finishing third in the FIVB Challenge Cup 2024. However, at the club level, we have the LPB Ninh Binh women's team holding the runner-up position in the 2024 Asian Women's Club Championship and having a place in the 2024 World Women's Club Championship. This is a remarkable mark that a Vietnamese women's volleyball team (club level) has achieved.
From those results, Vietnamese women's volleyball expects to achieve high results at SEA Games 33. SEA Games 33 will take place in December 2025.
Mr. Le Tri Truong also said that currently, the schedule of international tournaments and Asian tournaments for women's volleyball is being updated and we have a preliminary grasp of the time period in 2025 when each tournament will take place. The preparation plan for the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team is built to suit.
Vietnamese women's volleyball has never won a gold medal at the SEA Games. Perhaps, we have not been able to overcome the Thai team at the 33rd SEA Games, but after the final at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia (we lost to Thailand with a score of 1-3), coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet once expressed: "If Vietnamese women's volleyball focuses long-term on professional competition programs and competes in regular tournaments, we can solve the problem of future achievements. At this time, Thai women's volleyball is always following us very closely because Vietnamese women's volleyball is directly competing with them for results."
