Returning to Hanoi to focus on preparation
After nearly a month of training in Quang Ninh, the Vietnam women's team moved to Hanoi.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will continue to practice at Dong Anh District Gymnasium to prepare for the 2025 AVC Nations Cup Asian Volleyball Championship.
The tournament was preceded by the AVC Challenge Cup. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has won the championship for two consecutive years, in 2023 and 2024.
Therefore, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will aim for the AVC Nations Cup 2025 with the mindset of the defending champion.
According to research, during the training period in Quang Ninh, in addition to tactical training sessions, the coaching staff also focused on training the players mentally.
Because the team is in the process of transferring generations, the force has a mix of experienced faces and young players.
Reviewing each position, ensuring stability, flexibility and readiness for all situations of each individual is extremely important.

According to the draw results, the Vietnam women's volleyball team is in Group A with opponents Australia, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China) and India. These are opponents that have been heavily invested in and have undergone many changes in recent times.
To successfully defend the championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team must overcome their opponents in the group stage, and at the same time have calculations to face strong teams if they go deep in the tournament such as Australia, Iran or Kazakhstan.
Expectations for a squad that blends experience and youth
The strength of this year's Vietnam women's volleyball team is well built, interwoven with experienced pillars and young faces who are asserting themselves.
The biggest highlight is the return of captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. The 1997-born hitter has proven herself after a long period of injury.
Returning to the national team, Thanh Thuy is still the top striker of Vietnamese volleyball. She was immediately trusted by the coaching staff and given the captain's armband.
With experience and competitive spirit, Thanh Thuy will certainly bring confidence to her teammates, lead the playing style, and be a solid support for the whole team.
Along with Thanh Thuy, opposite Bich Tuyen is also one of the great hopes.
With a strong playing style, hitting the ball like a hammer, effective finishing ability and clear progress in tactical thinking, Bich Tuyen continues to be expected to be the "main scoring machine".
The pair Thanh Thuy - Bich Tuyen promise to create a strong breakthrough for the Vietnam team in this year's tournament.

In addition to the pillars, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also has a squad of young players who have made remarkable progress, leaving many impressions in tournaments in early 2025 such as Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Dang Thi Hong, Anh Thao...
Despite their young age, these athletes have integrated very quickly into the team's playing style, promising to bring a breakthrough in the team's playing style.
AVC Nations Cup 2025 is not only a medal-denominated tournament but also an opportunity for the coaching staff to comprehensively inspect the force before the Vietnamese women's volleyball team enters other challenges of the year such as VTV Cup, SEA V.League, World Cup and especially SEA Games 33 with the goal of overcoming Thailand to win the gold medal.
The whole team understands that this is a home tournament, where fans have high expectations. Therefore, the goal of the Vietnamese girls is certainly nothing other than winning the right to play in the final match, towards successfully defending the championship title.
AVC Nations Cup 2025 takes place from June 7 to June 14 at Dong Anh District Gymnasium (Hanoi). This year's tournament brings together 11 participating teams including host Vietnam, Australia, Kazakhstan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Taiwan (China).
