On May 31, a nearly 20-meter-tall potho tree on Le Hong Phong Street (Ward 1, District 10) suddenly uprooted in a thunderstorm, hitting a man riding a motorbike. The victim was lucky to have only suffered neck and shoulder injuries and was taken to the emergency room.
The incident occurred when a large storm suddenly hit. The ancient gourd tree with a diameter of about half a meter has been uprooted, and the tree canopy has fallen onto the road. At that moment, a man driving a motorbike passing by was hit by a fallen tree and fell onto the road. Many large branches fell on both the motorbike and the victim.

Phong Van, a witness, said that many people quickly ran out to support the tree to bring the man on the sidewalk. The victim, despite being injured in the neck and shoulders, has been given first aid by medical staff, bandaging the upper body, before being transferred to the emergency hospital. "Fortunately, the victim was not hit by a branch, so the injury was not too serious," Phong Van shared.

At the scene, the giant canopy blocked the lane, causing local traffic congestion. The authorities quickly arrived, using saws to reduce the tree trunks and relocate and clear the road.
