The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) has announced 24 official slots (12 men, 12 women) to participate in the 2026 Asian Championship.
In the women's category, the participating teams are China, Australia, Indonesia, Hong Kong (China), Iran, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Taiwan (China), Thailand and Vietnam. The 2026 Asian Women's Championship will be held in China from August 21 to 30. 8.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team continues to have a spot to participate in this tournament because they finished 4th at the 2023 Asian Championship. The goal of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will be to defend the ranking that has existed since 2023.
A week ago, the Asian Volleyball Federation announced the list to participate in the AVC Cup 2026 and the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team was named.
With the 2026 Asian Men's Championship, Vietnamese volleyball is not named. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team is not included this year.
The teams named for the competition are: Japan, Australia, Bahrain, China, India, Iran, South Korea, New Zealand, Oman, Qatar, Taiwan (China) Thailand. The tournament will take place from September 4 to September 13 in Japan.
The Vietnamese men's volleyball team did not participate in the 2023 Asian Championship. Recently, we also lost a spot to participate in the 2026 AVC Cup organized by the Asian Volleyball Federation.
