After losing in the first set, the Polish women's volleyball team successfully reversed the situation against the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.

Ranked 3rd on the world rankings, the Polish women's volleyball team unexpectedly lost 23-25 to Vietnam in set 1, in the opening match of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship. But then, the European team won the next 3 sets with the scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-22 to win the final 3-1.

According to statistics, opposite setter Magdalena Stysiak became the athlete who scored the most points in this match, with 29 points, including 6 successful blocks. In addition, two other Polish athletes, Agnieszka Korneluk and Martyna Łukasik, each scored 16 points.

The first game in a tournament like this is always complicated. We really respect the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, and they did very well, but the truth is that we played very poorly in the first set.

After that, we came back and played at our best. But we will learn from the first set for the upcoming important matches, said the Stysiak star after the match.

On the Vietnam women's volleyball team's side, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh scored 20 points, becoming the team's main hitter.

We are delighted to play well against one of the world's strongest teams. We have a good connection and really like this match.

We came to the World Championship to learn more when competing with stronger teams and accumulate more experience at this level," captain and attack player Tran Thi Thanh Thuy shared after the match.

Poland's strong attack is the biggest difference between the two teams, as they have scored 64 points, compared to 45 for the Vietnam women's volleyball team.

The European team also had more blocked shots (14 compared to 5 of the Vietnamese team). In addition, both teams have scored 5 direct points from shots.

In the remaining match in Group G, the German women's volleyball team beat the Kenyan team 3-0 (25-22, 25-8, 25-20). In the next round, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will meet Germany, while Poland will meet Kenya.
